Summer in our household has reluctantly yielded to the back-to-school grind... at least we still have our weekends!
That means I will have time to get my cloth diaper reviews up asap, being that I am stilllllll pregnant... yep, you read that right... and I'll be channeling my restless, insomnia into updating the blog.
For now I'll leave you with some pictures of sibling love : )

Despite my recent, unplanned internet absence I will be returning in the next week or so with lots of updates. I'll also have a lot of info, reviews, and rantings about cloth diapers since I've spent the last month or so getting ready for #2 in cloth. We also started out adventure into Potty Learning so I'll have lots to share about that too.
Enjoy the end of Summer everyone!

After a busy weekend and a few rainstorms... teeny tot finally got out to play in the sandbox. He's thrilled, I'm content... it's going to be an incredible summer!
I'm looking forward to a very productive, fun-filled couple of months before this new little baby makes his arrival...

In the last year, I've become inspired to become an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I have come to recognize the important role of lactation consultants through my work with young mothers, my own experiences as a new mother, and the challenges many friends have faced with breastfeeding. The reality check: for something so amazingly natural and wonderful, breastfeeding can be hardwork. Support, education, and advocacy from a lactation consultant and/or participation in a mother-to-mother support program can help mamas gain knowledge about breastfeeding and help to cultivate a wonderful, meaningful mama/baby relationship!
So I very recently made the decision to pursue my goal of becoming an IBCLC!!!
I just added some info about the certification process and my progress thus far. Check it on my Career Stuff page and keep checking back for future updates on my journey!
I'm also pregnant, almost always chasing a toddler, and just the type of person who constantly has a thousand little projects going at once. Honestly, this blog is sort of my attempt to focus my efforts a little more... honestly? Hopefully?!
Okay, lets get to the obligatory introduction:
Hello, my name is Lex. Look, that's me...
I'm a mama, a wife, and a social worker living in a small city in Western, NY. I grew up here, left a few times, and now I'm married with a family here. The family consists of my husband and I, our hilarious 2-year-old son, and my awesome school-age step-daughter. Currently, I'm incubating the newest addition to our family- due September 2012. More details on all of this stuff soon!
The content of this blog will probably vary greatly at times and most definitely be heavily influenced by my every whim... that being said, you can expect to hear about my daily adventures in motherhood... my ever-evolving career stuff... all sorts of crafts and other projects... and resources/info to help you keep up with the roller-coaster that is life!!!
Alright, lets do this...
